Re: Ravished in a Flash - An Erotic Writing Tournament
@Blue and @Shocker: By Wednesday, when the writing phase for the first round begins, there will be a tournament sub board where you can create your story thread. In that board, you will be able to see only your own thread. I will be the only one who can see threads in that board that are not my own. Just finish your story in that board before the voting period begins. I will then change the author for these stories from your official accounts to your pen names and change all of this back once the tournament is over. I will then also add the link to your opponent's story and I would appreciate it if you would add the link to this thread and the matchup designation beforehand so I don't have to do this.
Which theme is relevant for you, I will tell you on Wednesday. I will tell you your pen name via PM and I will post your matchup together with the associated theme in the second post of this thread that is currently only a placeholder.
@Kendall Great to have you on board. Any suggestion for a pen name for one of your fellow contestants?
@LaLia Sorry that you don't like the themes. But no matter what we do, for a tournament style contest you will have a large variety of themes and, in my opinion, ideally you wouldn't know any of them before you sign up and have them revealed only at the beginning of each round. I only published them all beforehand so that preparing for the tournament is easy and time won't play as much of a factor for participation. But I'll be honest, there is one theme on that list that scares me a little. "Innocence gained" will be a tough one for a noncon story... But I can only recommend you to interpret these creatively. That is the point. Something like "Cherry blossom" is deliberately chosen for its ambiguity in a sexual context, so don't try to stick to close to the literal meaning and take some creative liberties. If people understand what the connection to the theme was and end up thinking "Ah, that is how she interpreted that..." you are perfectly fine in my opinion. Trust me when I tell you that making something creative out of these themes will be much more satisfying in the end than working with a theme like Valentine's Day or Halloween.

I won't be around at the end of the week. I thought the theme was 'brotherhood' that's what I started writing for.

As it says in the opening post, writing begins on Wednesday. Assuming that there will be 8 contestants, there will be 4 quarter-final matches. Each quater-final match has a different theme. You will be assigned to one of the 4 quarter-final matches randomly on Wednesday.Kendall wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 7:40 pm I won't be around at the end of the week. @Claire
I don't have to like everything, Claire, and I'm definitely up for the challenge, which can be appealing. Let's see what comes of it. Hopefully, we can still try out enough.
Should I finish the avatar pictures each time new characters are suggested? We have Spiderman and The Joker, so it's probably going to end up being comic book characters, and we definitely have enough to choose from there. Then we could stick with male characters to avoid raising suspicion.

@LtBroccoli Can I take your post in the other thread to mean that you are signing up for the contest?

Okay...Spiderman It's easy, and so is Joker, of course, but who or what the hell is Ink Splotter? It'll be funny to see what kind of image the AI conjures up.

Okay, I'll give it a go. Really gonna struggle to keep it under 1000 words but I'll join in and see what I can do within the confines.

I don't know if I misunderstood Claire or you... Alias was about characters you could develop into an avatar. I'm not quite sure how that's supposed to work with Ink Splotter and Flash-Tastic.

Oh Lia, let's just be creative when the pen name itself is vague. Why not interpret Ink Splotter as a typewriter that overflows with ink and squirts ink everywhere every time a key is pressed? Or as a tattoo artist? Or as a tattoo artist typing on an overflowing typewriter? Let's take some creative liberties here.LaLia wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 6:24 pm I don't know if I misunderstood Claire or you... Alias was about characters you could develop into an avatar. And Flash-Tastic? That sounds like the name a nerdy kid, who is way too deep into The Flash, would choose as their account name for a comic book forum.
If you want to, we can make some time tomorrow in chat to talk a bit more about how to interpret the more ambiguous pen names.
@Nickamano Nice, good to see you on board!

At least with Flash, I was already thinking about the comic book hero, so that's definitely something we can do. We'll have to come up with four more anyway, given the current situation.
