It's a slow burn, which pays off in chapter four when the action picks up.

It is framed as though you are watching the movie, describing what the camera is focused on, or when it zooms in or pans out. I really enjoyed the effect, though not everyone agreed. It is full of small details that make the story come to life. I find the repeated rapes of Iris the hottest.

What I love most about this story is the character of Max. He's uncompromisingly villainous, but also complicated, interesting and even likable sometimes--in spite of how much I hate him.

Set in a future where time travel "safaris" are available to the filthy rich (pun acknowledged), is it a shock that some think to use the technology for nefarious purposes? I guess it shouldn't be, but I was delightfully surprised by the premise. Time travel mechanics often make one's head hurt, but this story neatly does away with all the problems of tense and paradox, while still leaving your mind spinning with the fascinating implications.

I would love it if people posted their own favorite story threads! I'm trying to work my way through the backlog of stories. But I'd love to hear about other great stories I may have missed once they dropped off the top of the public stories board. Plus it might be a fun way to get to know people a little better by seeing what kind of stories they like best.
It would also make me happy to hear if anyone reads a story they came across here and likes it.
Any other comments people may have about my choices or this post in general are welcome too.

Thanks for letting me know! For some reason that happens when I copy em/en dashes, ellipsis, and those fancy curly double or single quotes. I have to change them to their plain ASCII equivalents so they don't get mangled. Thanks for letting me know I missed some!
