Sofia and Fabrício June/July Contest

"Silence! Silence!" The judge said, as he hit the table with his hammer. The room immediately went silent.
The judge was short, his seat needed to be lifted just so that he could reach the top of his bench. He was wearing a black robe, with a purple scarf. His body was slender and humanoid, his muzzle was long like reptiles, and he had a long tail falling out of his robe behind his back. His body was covered in short feathers.
The rest of the attendants in the courtroom looked similar ways. Creatures with feathers, scales, and claws. The only person who did not fit in, was in a cage in the middle of the room.
She had soft light brown skin, a flat face with only a nose poking out, green eyes, and black hair on her head. She was sitting in the cage, trying to hide her naked body.
"What's the offence?" The judge asked.
The lawyer from the plaintiff's table stood up.
"My client's specimen was stolen by the defendant." The judge nodded, signing for him to continue. "My client got the specimen from an auction, but before he could get it to his home, the defendant stole it, and planned to smuggle it through the border to sell it."

After an hour, the court was finally over, and the professor got to take his new specimen home.
Sofia's cage was covered with a cloth. She felt her cage being lifted and moved. She heard the sounds of footsteps on the wooden floor, doors opening, then soon the sounds changed. Wooden floors changed to pavement.
She heard the sounds of carts, and speaking. Soon her cage was placed down, before she felt her cage moving again.

About half an hour later, Sofia's cage was put down.
"Thank you." Said a male voice, then she heard footsteps, and a door closing.
Soon she heard the sound of running water.
She grabbed the bars of her cage.
"Let me out of here! LET ME OUT!" She screamed from the top of her lungs.
"Be patient, mammal." The male voice answered, with annoyance. The sound of running water stopped.
She heard footsteps, the sound got closer, then suddenly the cloth was pulled down from her cage.
She was finally face to face with him.
He was tall, taller than any human man she ever met. He had a long crocodilian snout, a bony crest on his head, and a strangely humanoid body. A long tail was behind him. His body was covered with scales. He was wearing black trousers that were held up by suspenders, and a white shirt with ruffles.
Sofia tried to hide her nudity with her hands, as she took one or two steps back.
The humanoid creature looked at her.
"Your name?" He asked.
"What?"
"I asked your name. You can talk, and it seems like you can understand simple and complex concepts." He explained, as he went to his table and grabbed a bottle. "If your species' development is this advanced, I figured out that your species probably uses names."
She looked at him, then decided to answer.
"Sofia." She said. "And your name?"
"Doctor Fabrício Vargas de Fonseca." He simply answered, as he went to her cage.
Sofia looked at him. How can he have this name? She asked herself.
Fabrício opened her cage and motioned for her to come out.
She stepped out of her cage, and he immediately grabbed her with his clawed hands.
The irritator opened the bottle and poured the clear liquid onto her. She jumped a bit when the cold liquid touched her skin.
"Stay still." He poured the oil on her. First on her back, her ass, then on the back of her legs. He slowly turned her around, and poured it onto the front of her legs, her abdomen, then her breasts, making sure to cover every part of her body.

And in the south of the room, framed paintings, anatomical drawings of mammals, and black and white pictures were hung on the well. In the middle, a closed door made out of hard reddish brown wood, was standing.
"You are really obsessed with mammals." She stated, as she looked at her.
As he finished his writing, he looked up, and looked at her.
"If I hadn't been obsessed with them, I wouldn't have a degree in mammal biology." He said, as he put down his pen, and stood up.
"I have your measurements written down. Soon enough you will have your own clothes. Until then you will wear my stepmother's old clothes." He said, as he went to her. "She already had some of her dresses to have the tail hole to be patched already."
She looked at him.
"Your stepmother?"
"Yes. I got my obsession of mammals from her." He said proudly, then pointed at a painting on the well. "She is more obsessed with mammals than me."
The painting depicted a parasaurolophus in a pink dress, with three small mammals in her lap.
"Those are her pet?" She asked.
"Yes." He nodded.
"She looks nothing like you." She said, as she looked at the painting.
"Hence her being my stepmother." He said, as he took a glance at the clock. "I think we should be going. It's dinner soon."
"But I don't have any clothes."
"Just hold the blanket around your body. Mother will probably give you a dress."
Sofia took a deep breath, and got out of the chair, making sure to cover her body with the oversized blanket.
Fabrício reached a hand out to her, and she took it.
The two left the study for the night.

I really liked your use of the prompts! All very clear and distinct. None of them felt superficial. Obviously the opening hit the court prompt , although personally, I’m not too sure how the theft played into the rest of the story, but seeing as it appears this is the first chapter of a series, perhaps that purpose will be revealed.

I liked the use of the oil prompt Dr. Fab was hella confused about Homosapien skin!

The obsession prompt was thought-provoking for me cause since this is a society of reptilian persons, and mammals (even humans) appear to be comparable to animals, wouldn’t this mean Dr. Fab is….ya know…. interested in animals? He’s a NAUGHTY lizard

. Slander and slender both exist in the English langue but their meaning is rather different. I'm pretty sure you are looking for slender, though slander in the context of a court scene is rather funny.

Your story is very imaginative, and makes me curious about the world this happens in. So we have a reptilian dominant species, with Fabricio being an inquisitive personality interested in mammals like dear Sofia. But were is Sofia from? We learn that she is not pregnant, and Fabricio is not making any notice of fur on her lower body. You are making a lot of descriptions and references, that would require Sofia being from Earth, is this Earth? The references I refer to are Victorian shirt, French kiss and a floor made of mahagoni. While you perfectly get your point across, those thing must now be a known thing in your world. Just as a thought exercise, would have a white shirt with ruffles, kissing her with his tongue roaming her mouth or the floor made of a hard reddish brown wood have worked in the same context. I would like to stress, that I don't think that those things made your story bad, because they don't, I just want to encourage you to look at what the choice of words are doing to your world building.

Well I would say that he is more like a furry, when it comes to Sofia. At least that's what I intended.
This story was basicly born after I had the question "did any dinosaur species reach they stone age before the astroid hit?", which then tunrd into "What if the astroid never hit, dinosaurs got more advenced, and formed a dinosaur sociality?", and after this it become "What is a human woman was transported into a world, where socialityis made up of anthropomorphic dinoaurs?".

And then you for enjoying the story.

Thanks you for the sugestions. I already replaced two of them. (France still exist in this world, I like French cheese too much for it not to, same with Italy, Switzerland, and Greece).
This story was made after I asked a question. "What if a human woman was tranferd to a world ruled by a sociality made up by anthropomorphic dinosours, because the dinosaurs never went exctinct, and remaind the dominent species on Earth?" So yeah. She is from a defrent universe.

Your premise is intriguing, and you use it to great effect, but and this is why I was picking on those expressions, you didn’t let the reader know where we are, and where Sofia is from. With Sofia being transported from our World to this Dino World, her historical references are valid. If she is a native of Dino World, then those are distracting. I also wasn’t asking you to replace them, sorry if you got that impression. I was bringing them up for you to think about how the choice of words impact your story. It’s an exercise, that will help you for future stories, which I hope you will write.

I know that it was just an exercise. I just decided to change it, because I agreed that it sounded batter. Sorry, if it sounded bad.

I want more of this world especially after reading your response to comments. I’m surprised she wasn’t restrained at any point during the examination but that could be because of the mention of her being intelligent enough to speak and understand complex instructions.
Also, the clothes being repeated at the end confused me because he gave a different answer instead of repeating that she would wear stepmother’s dresses. I love that mammals are common pets in this world as indicated by the picture at the end.

I have two answears for this. In universe answear. He views his stepmother as his mother, and sometimes forgets that they are not biologicaly related. Actual answear. I forget to write "step", before "mother". So that's my bad.
