Title: RH Topic Tags
Link: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... topic_tags

The RH Topic Tags extension adds to the phpBB base forum software the possibility for the creator of a topic to add tags to their topic. Users can use these tags either indirectly as a guide that helps them decide whether they are interested in a topic or directly by searching for all topics that use a specific tag by clicking on it.

It is technically possible to search for multiple tags at once, but there is no easy to navigate search menu for that in the latest version of the extension. You have to type the search command directly as part of the URL. The link to the extension at the top of this post explains how to do that if you are interested.

The extension comes with some technical limitations.
  1. Only topics can be tagged, not individual posts. For practical purposes this means that individual chapters of a story can't be tagged using the extension, only the story as a whole.
  2. The predefined list of allowed tags applies to all sub boards that allow the use of tags. So it is not possible to define for example tags for non-story topics like "Discussion", "Request" or "Poll" without these tags being available in the story boards as well. To keep the need for moderation low, we decided not to use tags at all outside of the story boards.
  3. Tags can't be put into groups such that for example the language tags get a different color than the genre tags or the LGBT tags. That is why they all look the same.
The purpose of this topic is to explain the Topic Tags extension purely from a technical perspective. For an explanation on how to use tags on your story, please read the announcement in the public stories board.
