Wanderlust or plain sunlust -- do the RavishA users like to travel the world? If yes, what are we looking for first and foremost -- traces of history, architectural marvels, natural wonders, sandy beaches or perhaps culinary experiences?
Lately I do most of my travelling with Google Maps, but I have seen a little of this world. Best money I've ever spent by far. For me, nothing compares with the feeling that an obscure event I've read about went down right where I am standing at the moment.

Re: Travel
Relatable.
I'm dating myself by reporting this, but, back in 1993, when I was a teenager, some friends and I traveled to Salem, Massachusetts (USA).
At the time, Salem was hosting a celebration of the 300th anniversary of the famous witch trials. History really came to life for me on that adventure!! - Great times!

Re: Travel
I don't like the time, hassle, or expense of travel, but I do tend to enjoy it while it's happening. It can be a mind-expanding experience to stand somewhere and think, this is where George Washington slept (everywhere, according local lore in the Eastern US, but I'm thinking of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania). This ship fought in the Revolution (USS Constitution in Boston). This square is where Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch failed (Odeonsplatz, Muenchen). This spot was briefly a million degrees Celsius less than seven decades ago (Trinity site, New Mexico).
And now, in keeping with our theme, I wonder if a specific site of history ravishment can be identified? I've been in historic old brothels where it stands to reason things got out of hand at least once, but it's not quite the theme I'm looking for.

Re: Travel
Looking for places where notable women were raped is really difficult, if we are to exclude everything murder- and CSA-related. If the assault itself becomes headline news, it's easier -- Manhattan's Central Park comes to mind at once.SoftGameHunter wrote: Sat Jan 24, 2026 9:02 pmAnd now, in keeping with our theme, I wonder if a specific site of history ravishment can be identified? Let's start with the US. In 1974, the singer Connie Francis was raped at the Jericho Turnpike Howard Johnson's in Jericho, Long Island, NY. Heavily remodelled since, it looks like it's a student dormitory now.
