Rather than two matches with two themes for the semi-final we will have just one theme this time. All participants will write a story for the same theme and the two stories with the highest rating will then advance to the final. This way, even if one participant doesn't hand in a story there will still be a three-way competition.

I might not make it on time today to move the contest stories to the voting board. I will likely be a few hours late.

Also, at this moment only two stories have been posted by @Your Mum and @Werewolf. @Traumatized Teddy and @Foot Lover havenot posted their stories yet.

In case we end up with only two stories, I'm thinking of cancelling the final and making the semi final the last round. Otherwise, we would have just two contestants advance automatically to the final where they would then face each other. Any thoughts or objections to this idea?

I think that is a perfectly reasonable solution, even if a third contender is showing up during the week of voting, it would still make sense calling it the final. You put a lot work into this kind of contest, thank you for that, but the bracket system is perhaps not the easiest to translate into a literary contest. This is just my personal preference, but I would have liked all stories to work with the same prompt. It’s a lesson learned for the future.
