So I have a few ideas for our next contest(s) that I would like to share with you. The ideas here are listed in no particular order.
The Remake Contest
We would choose a bunch of short (or maybe medium, but definitely not long) stories and assign them to the contestants at random. The contestants then have to remake or reimagine the original story. The stories would be judged by a jury tasked specifically with evaluating how well the remakes reimagine the original. We would of course only remake stories that the original author has given their okay for.
Why a jury? Because a normal popular vote would likely just vote for the story they like the most, not the story that reimagines the original the best. This contest requires to read all stories, the originals and the remakes to judge. So a jury just makes more sense than a general vote.
I think this could also be a nice way to give some attention to the original stories that might slowly get forgotton on page 3 or 4.
A Short Story Tournament
We would essentially do the same as for the Ravished in a Flash Tournament: Two authors facing off against one another, writing a story for the same theme. Only the winner advances to the next round. The main difference would be, that we would write short stories and not flash fiction. To make that possible we would extend the voting and writing priods. RiaF had 4 days of writing, 3 days of voting. Now I would suggest at least 1 week of writing and 1 week of voting, but possibly even 2 weeks of writing and 1 week of voting for each round.
The idea would be to turn the tournament format into a long running affair while other shorter contests run in parallel. After the first round of the tournament, half the writers are available for other contests anyway. So I could see the longer running tournament as a continuous event running in the background. And it generates some attention whenever a new voting period begins. Also, I really want to bring back team teddy! #team-teddy
A Consensual/LGBT/BDSM/Female Rapist Contest
I would like to use contests to get some more stories for certain niches, essentially to close some gaps in our catalogue of stories to attract more readers who are specifically into those niches. Similar to Gang Rape Galore, we would have a genre and then a theme on top of that.
These are my ideas for the time being. What do you think? Feel free to make additional suggestions or to comment on the ideas presented here. I'm all for trying out new creative formats!

Re: Ideas for our next contest
I like the idea of filling in holes (giggidy as Quagmire would say.) The third option is appealing. Short story tournament is fine too, but I'd be slightly worried about school starting back up. Though, I do write best when I'm procrastinating something...
As far as theme, evacuation. Characters having to flee an external event - or another character - has some good writing material possibilities, both con and noncon.

Before I read the next sentence, I thought you were referring to another type of "evacuation."

I do like the theme/niche contest idea. Some ideas off the top of my head may be:
—Home invasion
—Mixed sex group victims (could be a couple or not)
—Fanfic with a very specific genre (fantasy, sitcom, anime, etc.)
—Running Man/The Purge/Deathrace/Hunger Games style plot where a group of innocent people are preyed upon for sport and non-consensual erotic pleasure
I really do like The Remake Contest idea, but I wonder if the forum would need a larger back catalog to make it viable.

@Claire I'm in favour of the Short Story Tournament running in parallel first with the German contest and then with one of the niche ones. I guess BDSM or Con would elicit quite a lot of interest.
@RapeU The evacuation one has great potential too.
@HumiliationInc Home invasion .... how about Home invasion Con -- too corny-porny?

@RapeU and @Lucius: Fir the tournament, if we said: 2 weeks to write a short story (1,000 to 5,000 words) and 1 week of voting, would that be fine, even with school? And in case that becomes too much, RapeU, you can give your students writing a rape fantasy for the given prompt as homework and hand in the best one.
@HumiliationInc I agree, a larger catalogue of stories to choose from would be better for the remake contest. Also, every juror would be lost as a potential contestant, so that could be a problem, too. But I still like the idea a lot. Let's put it on hold for now and return to it later.
So here is a plan. Currently, we got the German story contest running. I could start the short story tournament soon and a little bit later we could go for a consensual contest with a "On the run" theme or something like that?

The niche ideas sound fun, a chance to change things up. I'd like to propose a crazy idea for November. November is National Novel Writing Month. The goal of the project is to write a novel in a month. 50,000 words. This could be something we give extra time to, since that is a lot of writing.

So, something like this? Writing goes on for the entirety of November, then we give people time to vote until Christmas because reading will take a while and crown the winner on December 24, 25 or something like that? I like the idea. If we keep growing like we do currently until November, I could see that work.LtBroccoli wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 3:34 am The niche ideas sound fun, a chance to change things up. I think for nanowrimo contest the length alone is enough challenge for most people and the contest.

Two weeks must be sufficient. Agreed.Claire wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 1:06 am @RapeU and @Lucius: Fir the tournament, if we said: 2 weeks to write a short story (1,000 to 5,000 words) and 1 week of voting, would that be fine, even with school?
