I know there's a bunch of TTRPG fans in this community, and I feel like it's high time we started a regular game night again. I'm ready to be a GM (we had a few folks willing to take that role on some previous sites). I'm happy to trust people to report their rolls honestly until there's a dice roller added to the chat, I just want to get some fun times rolling!

The system I propose to run is called Cybertopia, a very simple and easy-to-learn game with a lot of flexibility in character creation. It's set in a near-future cyberpunk style world, which should give lots of avenues to explore. The original game has characters playing black ops enforcers working for a vast global megacorp that supposedly saved the world from climate change but now effectively function above the law and governments. That would offer lots of scope for a "bad guys" party using rape as just another tool to complete their missions. It would also be possible to run a version as resistance fighters, underworld criminals or some such, who might be targeted by the Powers That Be (megacorp, cops, etc).

At the moment, I'm only looking to run 1 group because time & energy levels, so we'll probably need to see who's willing to play in a rapist-y "bad guys" party, and who's up for being in a victim-y group. If there's enough interest and r/l allows, I'd love to be able to get both groups going eventually!

So, looking for initial shows of interest in playing, and which group (or both) you'd be interested in playing a character in. Maybe also what their "core" ability would be (this is their main background/skill, and awards a +3 bonus for any related actions in the game). I'll explain rules and character set up in full if we get enough players signed up.

This is just an idea, Kitty please reject if it is stupid (it really might be), I don't know how easy it would be to do it, since it seems like we have about equal interest in victim and rapist, perhaps we could run three role play channels for this in chat, one for secret victim stuff, one for secret rapist stuff, and then a shared out in the open thing to role play interactions between both groups, unless people can respect and handle not using knowledge their character is supposed to not have, then it could run in a single channel.

I am not really a rapist character, but also not really a victim character, though I suppose I write both.. So I am not sure I personally would fit into either group, so you should extra not care what I have to say about this, but wanted to share the idea anyway.

Kitty, Metagaming (using Out of Character Knowledge) can ruin a good game, I like Vela's Idea, so that you can have a way of balancing the interactions of each group separately, while giving priority to the main campaign. A sound idea, tbh.

However, I'm not entirely sure how the different channels will work. Will individual characters only be unlocked for their roles? So, will there be a separate thread for the rapists and a separate thread for the victims?
