TikTok

Post by RapeU »

What are some good things you've seen on TIkTok? What creator is someone people should look into and follow? I resisted getting it for a while but then right before the school year started I got it and found some funny stuff on there.

There's a teacher named Mr. Lindsey who teaches middle school and defines words that kids are using, which has been helpful in understanding my kids.

There's a guy who owns a business called SB Mowing. He cleans up overgrown yards for free and posts the videos on his youtube/TikTok.

To be honest, I've never used TikTok even once and I don't plan to in the future. I don't think that his high frequency short form video content is doing much good over all. If I remember correctly, the decline in the attention of children is already clearly measurable I think. And personally, I already dislike how much YouTube seems to try push shorts in an attempt to compete with Tiktok.

I do like though that you as a teacher try to be aware of what the children in your classes engage with. I think it's good if teachers have an idea of what's going on the social media platforms children use.
