Re: Gang Rape Galore - A Short Story Writing Contest
I would vote for votes being changeable, but I could change my mind

Yeah, I could see that being a problem.Claire wrote: Sun Jun 08, 2025 10:49 pm
I could change that. I was a little worried that votes might strategically get changed close to the end because someone realizes that their favorite can't win and then vote for a less preferred option mostly to spoil the victory of somebody else. But I have no strong preference here. If more people want the vote to be changeable afterwards, I'd be happy to change that setting.
I only asked because I was to hasty to press "submit".
If I am the only one, let it be.

Indeed; I think it's better to keep the votes unchangeable.Claire wrote: Sun Jun 08, 2025 10:49 pmI could change that. That's a difficult question.
To be able to evaluate as objectively as possible requires reading all the stories submitted for the competition from cover to cover at least twice. At least, that's what happened to me.
The first time, I always read the stories as soon as they were published. I liked some of them right away, some less so, and there were also stories I couldn't relate to at all.
Now that all the stories have been published, I took the time this morning to actually read them all again. It took time, but my grandchild, who is currently visiting, woke me up early this morning so I had the time.
And I have to admit that I changed my mind about one or two of the stories the second time through. And right now, I'm still wavering between two stories and which one I should vote for as my favorite.
Perhaps the option to change the vote I've already cast would actually be a better option.
I don't share the fear that this might push your favorite authors even further in the ratings, allowing them to win the competition.
There are certainly people who don't rate the content of a story, but rather vote for their favorite author. But they will do that, regardless of whether you can change your vote later or not.

I extended the voting window by 3 days. I think the most were in favor of that.
My stories: Claire's Cesspool of Sin. I'm always happy to receive a comment on my stories, even more so on an older one!

The contest is over! For a while it looked like a close race, but over these last few days @Shocker's Fugitives got into a clear lead and never let go of it! Our runner-up is @chloevee with Teamwork! She had the lead for a while, but it was not meant to be! Please, congratulate them both on their outstanding stories!
With a total of 29 different people voting in this contest, the winner was able to convince 16 of those to give him their vote. That is a great result that I hope you are proud of, @Shocker! And a big thanks to all participants and the community who voted in such large numbers for a small community like ours! This was a great example of what this community can be at its best!
