Forum rules
The Popular Stories board houses stories that were able to convince the community by gaining a rating of 30 or higher. New stories are never posted here but have to earn their place here in the Public Stories board first. Other than that, there are no restrictions on the stories that might find their way here. Whether it's forced sex or consensual BDSM, a German short story or an English epic, all kinds of stories can join the hall of fame.
Please honor the authors and their stories who have provided the community with these classics with respectful comments and ratings. It's a simple thing that helps to keep the community alive and to motivate the authors to write more stories of such high quality for all of us to read. Thank you!
@JTCK I thought hat this story maybe wasn't for you because it was too short and lacks (by design) the detailed character backgrounds you usually seem to be into.
Thank you for sharing that the story was unsettling to you. That's not an easy admission for everybody. That feedback is so valuable for me because I as the author got a bit detached from the "emotional flow" of the story because I planned it so rigorously. So it's nice to hear that it worked as intended!
I also can't tell you why this story in particular kept getting voted and commented on. I posted it on launch day. You and Record Chaser somehow kept getting pushed back to the top of the board whereas most launch stories stay buried in the depths of the forum. With Record Chaser this made sense to a degree because the story was getting a ton of views. But You doesn't even have that many views for a highly rated story that has been on the forum for almost half a year now. So it's a story that behaves really weird. Anyway, you probably don't share my fascination for staitical outliers like this one, so I'll stop here.
I would still appreciate a rating for the story. Sadly, the Community by and large seems to stop rating stories once they end up in the Popular Stories board. Shocker's Fugitives for example has now been for more than three months in the Popular Stories board and has increased its view count from <1600 to over 5700 in the meantime. Almost 400 people registered since then (~60% of our total userbase). But it got only a hand full of new votes (and comments). It's one of the issues that plagues the community.

My stories: Claire's Cesspool of Sin. I'm always happy to receive a comment on my stories, even more so on an older one!
The story immediatly draws you in and creates a sense of tension for what is about to happen. Shows that you don't need a lot of words to create a big impact
@naturefreak Thank you. I think for second person narration a shorter story works better actually. Do you like second person narrators in general? There will be a contest in June for second person narration stories. We don't have many of those on the forum yet.
Can I ask how you found us? Did you come here from AO3 by any chance?

@Claire I really enjoy second person narration, but I find it's hard to execute ir well, it can sometimes feel alienating rather than imersive. So I always appreciate when it's done well. Yes, I did find this website via AO3, I followed a link on one of your works Record Chaser
