Once the sign-up phase is over, I will assign a pen name to every participant at random. The only pen name you can't get is the one you suggested yourself. And then I will send you a PM with the name and the password for the pen name account.

From your pen name account, you will have access to a sub board that's invisible to normal users and even the moderators. There, you will post your entries, and once the writing phase is over, the stories will be moved to the public stories board where they will get pinned for the duration of the voting phase.

You may use your pen name to comment on the other contestants' stories: tease them, trash talk, engage in a little roleplaying on the forum with your pen name identity. But that is optional.

Hey guys, thinking about this and what I said last regarding the contest plan didn’t fully make sense. I haven’t been feeling well due to meds so sorry for that.

If all 9 people who have signed up for the tournament (or more if people sign up by Saturday) hand in a story, then the first round will be elimination where the highest rated 8 stories will advance. We will then do quarterfinal, semifinal, and final using the prompts in the first post of the thread.

If 8 people or fewer hand in a story, then the 4 highest rated stories will advance to a semifinal where the remaining contestants will be randomly matched to another. To avoid confusion, we will in this case use the semifinal prompt found in the first post of this thread. Then the winners will face off in the final.

It took me a while for me to realize it didn’t make sense to have an elimination round with no one eliminated should 8 or fewer people hand stories in. Hopefully we’ll be able to do all 4 rounds

Everyone should have gotten a PM with their pen name along with the password to login to the account. The easiest way to do this is through an incognito window if using google chrome. Or you can do a different web browser if you want. When you login you will see a section that says Flash of Desire - Contestants' Lounge. Post your story there with your pen name. There is a timer on that forum which tells you how long you have left to hand in your story.

Turning it in afterward is fine, but you won't have the full 3 days other stories have to get ratings. The highest rated 4 stories will advance to the next round. Also sorry if you've already posted your story. I don't know who anyone is except me :D
