@Claire

Sweeeeet! I’ll add those two stories to my developing little Ravishment reading list ^.^ I have no doubt they’ll be exceptional as that’s what I’ve come to expect from you as a writer! 🙌

Your first piece: Still! That’s not a very long time to be writing! Especially not long to be writing pieces that are so thorough and well-rounded; with prose that flows so smoothly and invokes such imagery. For example the story of mine you’re reading now, Love of My chains, might be my first original piece but I’ve been writing Fanfiction on A03 (as u know) for about seven or eight years now. So when you tell me you’ve really only been writing since 2024, that’s pretty goddamn impressive 👏👏 You’re a natural!

Inspiration: Well you hit the nail on the head! Realistic was definitely a theme I picked up on. And Mark was FAAAAAAR from a caricature. As you know, I loved his portrayal. He was a perfect villain (which in my experience the best written villains have layers you can relate to or even empathize with). I’m not surprised how popular the story turned out, i mean it’s really well written and captivating. And like you mentioned, when a well-rounded piece is surrounded by more myopic ones, they tend to blossom like a sunflower among a bed of daisies. They rise up and take all the sun 😂

Self-insert: Ah, I see! So the handle is named after THIS claire. Very interesting! I feel like I just watched an episode of “How is it made” mutuals-edition! 🙂And oh, that’s cool you work in a male-dominated field! Me too! So I identified with that part of Claire’s character as well. I forgot to include that in my massive comment lmfao

Nothing wasted: Oh yeah! I suppose repetition could be a risk when writing a non-con story with 13 rapes (or 14) on the table. Well you pruned the concept just right. I was totally tantalized the entire time! And the character development or showcases of psychology in correlation to the abusive scenes were on point! With your efforts now in mind I really appreciate how you went about that.

Dexter: Oh, yeah the final season was ass—and then the random season they added years later was even more ass 🙄 but the first four seasons are HELLA good (five is alright too) but 6-9 are not worth watching. If you do ever watch it just stop at five lol but I’m almost certain you’ll see some similarities between Dexter and Mark if you ever do get around to giving it a try ^.^

Claire-1; Mark-0: 🤯AH MAN! I picked up that Claire had a victory in that sense but it kinda went over my head that it was like a competition between her and Mark; a psychological battle as you put it! Man, see, that’s what I mean 😭the piece is so WELL thought out! I can’t even! It’s too good! Imma die 😂

Clair’s evil Math in Divergent Limit: LMAO I’m sure I’ll love it when I get around to reading it! I’m just superbly terrible at math. If it’s beyond reading a tape measure I can’t be bothered 😛

Vaginitis: I didn’t even know that was a thing, but it made sense to me when you explained it in the story. And LMAO at ‘yes these are normal thoughts’...well i think those thoughts are normal enough for people who dabble in our particular brand of erotic fiction 😋….maybe not so normal for vanilla folks lol I had honestly never considered the vagina acting like its own front line but It did strike me as realistic in this piece. Most of us ladies know the power of our nerves and a sturdy clench….like when you’re at the evil gynecologists office for example 😒but it never occurred to me to incorporate that into rape-fics. Makes perfect sense.

Numb to the horror: 🤔myes very profound. It is our duty as a community to keep real-life victims in mind and never-ever obscure their tragic experiences through a haze of familiarity...or barbarity when some insensitive people are concerned.

Circle of appreciation: It was my pleasure to type out the comment! It was the least I could do in return for you typing out such an amazing story 😉And I have no doubt I’ll have fun reading your other tales! Cause I do love me an eccentric character—but especially when they’re of the rapist variety! ^.^

Lovely story again! It’s definitely one of my RA favs! Hands down, 10/10 would recommend to other deviants 😈

@sinfulwords
I’ve been writing Fanfiction on A03 (as u know) for about seven or eight years now.
Damn, that's a long time! We got to chat sometime. I'd really like to know how AO3 has changed over the years. A few of our authors here are also posting their stories there, but it looks like original noncon fiction has a hard time gaining traction over there. I wonder whether a few years ago it was easier to find an audience on AO3. I imagine that AO3 might get flooded with a lot of AI slop these days. Would love to pick your brain sometime about your AO3 experience over the years. ;)

I feel like I just watched an episode of “How is it made” mutuals-edition!
I'm always happy to talk about that, as my most recent question regarding your own story might have shown you already. :sweatgrin: I think it would be a good thing if we as a community talked more about went into a writing story in general.

I have to say, despite the Claire username being a bit of lazy coincidence, I've grown attached to it. Originally, I just thought "My protagonist needs a name... Hmm, Claire sounds pretty!" and now it has become something like a second identity for myself. :sweatgrin:

I suppose repetition could be a risk when writing a non-con story with 13 rapes (or 14) on the table.
It absolutely is. I cut one chapter of the story that would have shown the shower-rape that is referenced several times after chapter 8. But I couldn't come up with any reason why it would be relevant to include in the plot, so I cut it. After the spanking-chapter, Claire was already at her lowest point. The shower scene would have meant to portray her as basically non-responsive for an entire chapter and ultimately that wouldn't have added anything to the story. So the chapter had to go.

Clair’s evil Math in Divergent Limit: LMAO I’m sure I’ll love it when I get around to reading it! I’m just superbly terrible at math. If it’s beyond reading a tape measure I can’t be bothered 😛
Let me know if you read it and it made you look up Kurt Gödel and his incompleteness theorems. :sweatgrin:

I didn’t even know that was a thing, but it made sense to me when you explained it in the story.
I also only heard of the term a few years ago as I have luckily never experienced it myself. I was especially unaware how severe some cases can be. It's also one of those conditions that often goes undiagnosed because of a lack of social awareness.

Thanks for another great comment. You might not be aware of it, but you just turned Record Chaser into the first topic on the forum with 200 or more replies. ;)

@Claire

A03: yeah it is a long time! I was BIG into writing in middle school, but the hobby got a bit more sporadic in my mid-teens. I eventually came back full throttle a few years ago and as I’ve mentioned, I’m now trying to branch out into original pieces! but yeah I’d love to chat more about A03 and of course more about what called u to write in the first place 😛

Community: I think that’s a great idea. Writers connecting over the hobby itself could only strengthen the camaraderie and of course by association the forum itself…viva ravishment academy 😵‍💫 🫡

Shower scene: ah man!!!! That must’ve been so hard! To cut a whole chapter like that 🫠 but as writers we must do what’s necessary for the good of the story 🔪….I lowkey wanna read the deleted scene tho ngl 👀👀 I loved reading Mark flailing about trying to get a reaction out of Claire and falling flat on his face 😂

Divergent Limit: oh no incompleteness theory…🫪 that sounds like some NASA Oppenheimer type shit…uh, ‘the limit does not exist?’ 😂…

Vaginismus: the human body is so wild! I swear! Our bodies stay conspiring against us 😭

200 comments: 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 congratulations!! That’s so amazing 😻 u must be hella stoked!…ig u can say Record Chaser, broke a record 😭🫠😭🫠😭🫠😭🫠😭..I’ll see myself out 🚪

Honestly tho, that’s sick! You should be proud 😜🏆🥇

@Labaal Thank you for the great comment. :)

It's nice to hear that you appreciate the more psychological angle I'm taking with my writing. I thought that this is underdeveloped in many stories and that is one of the reasons why I started writing stories of my own. :)

Regarding your suggestion: I feel flattered that you enjoy the scenes enough to say you wished there had been more, even more so with stories that are so long already. But I'm not sure I'm the right author to write what you would like to read. Personally, I tend to get bored quickly when a story keeps piling up the abuse without any sense of narrative progression. To me, the appeal of a story like this lies in a scenario that I can immerse myself in. I need what happens to feel meaningful, to change something in the characters involved. The kink itself is secondary to that. You could even write a kink I have little interest in, like anal or whipping for example, but if you integrate that into a story where this becomes a deeply meaningful act - like a boyfriend wanting to have anal sex for years and he only gets it when he finally breaks and forces himself on his girlfriend - then you can turn that into the hottest thing ever.

Writing a story that delivers that kind of experience that at the same time keeps just piling up the abuse is very difficult. My story The Infinite Rape is probably the maximum for how long I was able to derive a sense of "narrative meaning" out of a victim that no longer responds and rapists that treat the experience as nothing more than masturbation. That story ends after 1800 words.

If I forced myself to write something like what you'd like to read, I doubt you'd end up liking the result very much. The things you praised - "the psychological aspects and the internal monologue of the characters" - would just flatten into repetitive white noise because I would have nothing left to say. Take the garden hose imagery you mentioned for example. Generally speaking, I steer away from purple prose and I use strong, vivid language like that in a few spare moments that I want to evelate. (If you'd like to read a story that is mch more dense with evocative language lik that, give @sinfulwords The Love of my Chains a read. She is much less restrained when it comes to going all out with strong imagery like that and generally more eloquent than me.) But if you look at what that moment does, it's not meant to primarily say "He came a lot." in a fancy way. It's meant to describe the magnitude of the violation and the disgust Claire feels in that moment. Similarly, the chapter tries to sell you Mark's delusional self aggrandizement with the over the top descriptions. But during rape number 4, neither of them feels these things anymore, and so that language also disappears from my writing. Chapter 8, Mark's final satisfying orgasm, is no longer a shotgun shot like release splattering Claire's vaginal walls with brutal force, but the image has turned into the pouring of a fine wine.

My point being, I'm not the right author to write these prolonged abuse scenarios. I lack the ability to make the abuse feel meaningful for a prolonged period of time. I'm simply not good enough of a writer to pull that off. And if I gave up the attempt to make the abuse feel meaningful, I would take away what's at the core of my writing and I doubt that the resulting story would be as good as you picture it to be.

That being said, I genuinely feel flattered by the trust you seem to have in my abilities as a writer to turn such a story into an enjoyable read. :)

---

One unrelated thing. You don't need to rate Record Chaser here. It achieved everything it can on this forum already. But it would be nice if you rated the stories you like here or give them kudos on AO3. Getting ratings/kudos from readers like you is what prevents stories to be forgotton. A story gets a lot of attention immediately after it's posted because it is at the top of the "recently updated" lists, but in the long term it can only get attention if it close to the top if stories are sorted here by rating, or on AO3 by kudos or bookmarks. Especially nowadays that plattforms like AO3 likely get flooded with a lot of AI slop, genuine human works lose those top spots at the "recently updated" lists even quicker. So if you'd find it in you to give the stories you like a rating here or a kudos on AO3, you'd be doing a lot to get more stories from the authors you like. Original works in the noncon nicche have a much harder time to find an audience than fanfics for some giant fandom. Nothing is more frustrating for an author to see a story they worked on for days if not weeks to get 200 hits on AO3 or here and then fade into obscurity, making maybe 2 more hits per day from then on.

I wouldn't say that.
You could still go record chasing (wink, wink, nudge, nudge ;) ) and make it the first story to reach a 3 figure reputation

If you add the ratings of users who rated the teaser but not the actual story, it's already there. :sweatgrin: I'm not stopping anybody from rating the story and I wish that in general more people would show their appreciation that way, but it is what it is.

But seriously, what would mean much more to me than RC reaching a rating of 100 would be people actually rating Men at War. I could list for a fact at least four people on the forum who I know read and enjoyed it, but never rated it, and I heavily suspect there is a fifth one. And that's just the people I know of. Always makes me a little sad to know that a story could be doing its job of motivating people to register/participate but doesn't because people can't be bothered to show that minimum of support. It was the same with RC when it was rated at 29 and people who liked it, but didn't rate it, let it rot at the threshold for over a month. The story got us so many new users since it made it to Popular status, I wonder how much we lost because some people just refuse to click a like button. :roll:

It took me a while, but I have finally edited chapter 7. I think tis edit is a massive improvement, but this time you can't see it in the word count. 5195 words of the old version became 5192 words in the new version, so basically no change. I've done the same trimming as for the other chapters, but here I also felt the need to extend some sections a little. By pure coincidence, trimming and extending turned out to be equally long.

I'm also happy to have finally found a title for the chapter that I don't dislike. I was never happy with the title "Again". But the new title "Struggle" I think fits the chapter much better. Thanks to @Lucius for brainstorming chapter titles with me. :heart:

In case anybody is interested, here is a direct before and after comparison for a section that stayed the same in terms of length (159 words (old) vs 157 words (new)), but saw some significant improvements in terms of the prose. I think it's a good example for how my editing overall affects the text.

Before:
It was hard for her to think of anything but the penis inside her. He was moving slowly but smoothly inside her. His probing fingers and sucking mouth on her tits became more and more of an afterthought compared to the violation of her cunt. The deliberate slowness with which he took her was not what she had imagined a rape to be before today. What he did to her was a grotesque imitation of loving sex. But if you added to the story that she was whimpering in desperation, shaking her head in distress and that he held her hands in place above her head to stop her from hitting him, then the picture became a different one: The picture of a predator who had already eaten his fill and who was now savoring what was left of his prey simply because it tasted so good. How much would be left of her once this day was over?

After:
It was hard for her to think of anything but his cock inside her. His movements were slow, smooth, and impossible to ignore. His probing fingers and sucking mouth became more and more of an afterthought. The deliberate leisure with which he claimed her wasn’t what she had imagined a rape to be before today. What he did to her was a grotesque imitation of loving sex.

But a closer look revealed that she was whimpering in desperation, that she was shaking her head in distress, and that he pinned her hands over her head so that she couldn’t resist him. With that in mind, the picture of the attentive lover turned into a different one: Into that of a predator who was now savoring what was left of his prey, not out of hunger, but for the sole reason that it tasted so good. How much would be left of her once this day was over?
Most obvious is the split into two paragraphs. And then I avoided the awkward "If you added..." narration here.

So no fundamental changes here, just prose improvements, improved readability, and of course a few corrected mistakes throughout the chapter like a wrong "their" instead of "there" and a few other minor things I don't remember.

Chapter 8 I guess? Yes, that's a dark one. If the story gets too dark and is dragging you down, you can always take a break from reading. I took a long break from writing the story after chapter 5 and after chapter 10 I had to lie down and cry for a bit. we're dealing with some heavy material here. No need to binge it if it gets too much. :heart:

Chapter 9 or 10? I hope the final chapter will provide a satisfying ending for you. It's nice to see you so invested in the story!
