@Claire
Wow. Just wow! I absolutely adore your novella. It was so fun to read. I had started it thinking it was going to be my ‘read at break times at work read’ but after the first chapter I could tell this was something special so I wanted to move it to a more prestigious slot in my reading schedule

So, after I had finished my current ‘read before bedtime read’ YOUR book took that slot! Congratulation, please collect your trophy

It’s very obvious how much time and care u put into it. Thanks so much for recommending it to me ^.^
It’s very impressive that this is your very first piece of fiction and I’m curious what inspired the idea in the first place
I’m also curious if the character of Claire is a self-insert? I obviously realize your handle is Claire as well, so, I’m curious if story-Claire was named after you or if your handle is named after her?
The writing is brilliant! Better than some published works I’ve read tbh. I loved the slow burn of it all, nothing felt rushed, every detail had its point. No sentence seemed wasted, from the setup of the rape itself, to the chilling yet nonchalant insanity showcased in Mark (all the aspects of psychology study), to the carefully constructed
deconstruction of such a strong character, like Claire’s, will to fight. Everything was clear and elaborative, enhanced by obviously well-thought-out figurative language and striking dialogue that brought the characters to life….it was also so soooooo hot too
I loved both characters but because I’m such a depraved little deviant Mark was my favorite character to read. I’ve always been a sucker for a good villain, and you, my friend, wrote a spectacular villain! I loved how he had his little code of conduct his code was so important to him (cause I believe it shielded himself from what he truly is). The importance of his code was solidified in chapter ten when it ultimately transcended his ambition to exceed his own record. Which is quite significant cause the story is called Record Chaser which implies the importance of the record chasing, not to mention, you took the time to detail how much pain he was in while trying to beat said record: all the fatigue, muscle aches, and friction burns, etc.
idk if you like crime-dramas, but he kind of reminded me of Dexter from the show Dexter. The way he sort of accepts that he has “dark urges” but uses this “code” to try and justify the violence he inflicts on others, along with the delusion that somehow makes him better than other degenerates who practice in his “sport”. I loved the parts when he would become perturbed by Claire’s censure, feeling frustrated by his own guilt, cause I really believe he believed his code made him better than other rapists, so, when Claire would hold up this mirror that reflected the beast within, his carefully self-mandated ego didn’t quite know how to cope. I mean, it was often detailed that he didn’t often spend so much time with his victims, so, he wasn’t accustomed to seeing the effects of his cruelty, but that sort of implies he knew the effects were there. It just never stopped him from raping. Albeit, out of sight, out of mind
is a very strong rope that binds the human psyche isn’t it? Mark discovered that FIRST hand
Claire was also a pleasure to read, in completely different ways than mark…
obviously lol. She was a very likable character who you were naturally rooting for. Man I wanted her to get the upperhand somehow the whole time AND she DID every once in a while. Anytime her words got to Mark, I believe this was a victory for Claire. As the victim of someone who puts on a pseudo-friendly demeanour in the face of violence, to crack that veneer is something special. Like In Chapter ten, in Mark’s farewell section, he details everything Claire had said that bothered him. He wasn’t thinking how awesome the rape was, he wasn’t thinking about how he actually fulfilled his goal….he was dwelling on Claire’s scrutiny while he followed her home. That in itself is a victory for Claire imo
And it’s no surprise she had some victories in that regard, she’s written as a very intelligent woman. I’d bet she’s a DIABOLICAL chess player lol. In the beginning it was so tragic to read how she was trying to use her mightiest weapon, her mind, to get her out of that terrible situation. She learned a hard won lesson: logic and appeal doesn’t work well on crazy it was incredibly hard to read her character slowly start to realize she wasn’t going to be able to talk her way out it. The way you wrote her creeping desperation was really good, how it slowly sank in the closer it got to midnight until the levee broke and hysteria washed over. She was so logical and stoic when she had oodles of time before midnight that slowly devolved into chaos as the cinderella-hour approached. I thought that was super realistic. It’s so often that we humans can’t quite process terrible things when we know they’re about to happen or even right AFTER they’ve happened. Like that’s why we have that saying: “It hasn’t sank in yet,” cause it’s such a universal experience. Furthermore, you captured a true fighting spirit in her. She really maintained her tenacity for far longer than I would’ve ever been able in her situation. But that made it all the more tragic when she STOPPED fighting. The glazed look you described in her eyes, the whole ‘checked-out’ vibe that really pissed Mark off—I think you described it as ‘weirdly used to being raped’ or something to that effect in the begining of chapter nine. The way you waited until the near end of the story to make her shut down made that defeat hit all the more vigorously….although Claire is a villain in her own way too….cause she likes math…and math stands for Mental Abuse To Humans, so she’s not TOTALLY innocent, she enjoys the pain of others XD lol just a little joke. I honestly liked how you made her a math wizard. It gave her a unique flare.
Now I shall highlight particular things I liked in no particular order, as these are the things that stood out to me, and stayed with me over the time i was reading your novella.
It was such a great idea to open the story in an enigma, the fact that Claire had no idea where she was, it really set the story up for an exciting start. We the readers kind of already knew she was in hot water, of course, given the subject matter but I was invested on exactly how her grim situation was going to be revealed to her
I loved all the metaphors you used for Claire’s Vag: Love canal, Pleasure Cave (my personal fav), Fun hole, Passion mine (my second fav)
The very beginning of the rape scene was BRUTAL! The way her vagina was like a wall of cement that Mark had to chisel through. You REALLY wrote that well. I was cringing the whole time cause the writing was so visceral.
I loved how you captured her conscious efforts of dissociation at the beginning of the rape: Claire’s fixation on the ‘shaking’ ceiling coupled with the inability to block out the feeling of Mark thrusting. Very well executed
SPANKING!! God that scene was so awesome! I feel like such a twisted weirdo cause I liked that scene so much

I did still feel absolutely AWFUL for Claire in chapter 8, tho, because how could Mark’s evil be so astute that he’d force the poor thing to ASK to be kissed?!?!?! Absolutely DEMONIC! I almost hate you for making her go through that….But i also love you for doing it too….why are non-con kinks so complicated
That evil was further enhanced when Mark MADE her WILLING open her legs for him. He’s just pure evil wrapped up in a casual nonthreatening-looking-guy package, isn’t he?
Further more in Chapter 8—CUM WATERFALL!!!!!! Daaaaaaaaamn shorty! Got me feeling all types of swollen with that chapter. The way she kept leaking cum and Mark kept shoving it back in—a whole new meaning to the word violation. Ws in the chat!
I think chapter 8 was my favorite
And now I must touch on the ending….Chapter 10….

POOR claire!!! The way you captured the essence of that ‘tired but wired’ feeling that comes with anxiety after trauma was insanely accurate. From the creeping thoughts of the trauma contaminating familiar spaces without warning, like the color of her pajamas or her
creampi-plushie, to the random branches your brain tries to latch-on to, like her having to pee or grabbing an apple. The way you wrote that feeling of wishing your brain would shut down when it refuses to was a little too close to home but i applaud you for your skillset in that execution.
It’s not too often these non-con stories detail the aftermath of the rape, so I found it very refreshing and original that you embarkred to do so. And boy was it a tear-jerking experience. Cause all kinks and juicy-fun-arousal aside, this is a very serious subject matter and it’s good for people who enjoy these kinds of stories to step back and appreciate that once a while….if not consistently all the time
The last chapter was interesting….suffice it to say I liked the parts with Claire in them
Overall it was a very good story! I enjoyed it so much! Thank u so much for writing it and for recommending it to me ^.^ Kudos X 13….for every tally on Mark’s scoreboard

….but actually kudos times a million
