Re: Trust over Nothing - Kristen's Board Contest
Interesting but a bit disagreeable to be spoken to like that, also I am not a fan of frames, where a character in the future tells of the events in the past, but I suppose that in this case let's us know she is still alive and that might be good in this case. I had to pull myself out of the protagonist, so I skimmed the surface, this is really not a story for me. I think it is well written for what it is and what genre it is, but it is not for me.

Knowing the intensity of some of your past work, I was intrigued to see how you would handle a "consensual" story. You did well, @SoftGameHunter , while still managing to utilize some "nastiness"!

This doesn't work for me as part of a consensual contest. To me, the spirit of the contest is to challenge ourselves to let go of the usual transgressive angle of our writing. This feels like finding a loophole to me to avoid doing that.
I did enjoy the unhinged, pretentious voice of the narrator though.

My stories: Claire's Cesspool of Sin. I'm always happy to receive a comment on my stories, even more so on an older one!

After reading the other stories, I'm inclined to agree it doesn't fit with the rest. My take on consensual was very literal. If we do this prompt again some day, I'll keep this in mind.Claire wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 5:03 pm This doesn't work for me as part of a consensual contest.
