There are some historical rags to riches stories. Like Catherine I of Russia. She started out as the illiterate daughter of a lowly Polish farmer called Marta Skowrońska, then she become the chambermaid and bedwarmer of Peter the Great who devorced his first wife Eudoxia Lopukhina (she loved him, but he did not, he cheated on her, then after the devorce sent her to a monastery) few years before. Then a few years after the two meet they got married, they had twelve childrenn together, they stayd married to the death of Peter. After his death she become the ruler of Russia.
