On a more profound note I realize u wrote Zipitia sort of accepting her death early on…idk about you, but the yo-yo of confronting my morality, accepting it, only to be told I went through that mental hurdle for nothing would be equal parts soul crushing and relieving beyond imagination Zipitia is a warrior tho so maybe that’s why she didn’t experience any prolific mental break down like I imagine I would in her shoes warriors are built different…just ask Steph Curry

Ziptia reacts to her being spared with knee-jerk defiance because she suspects that her new fate is just crucifixion on an instalment plan, and then she is whipped off-screen so that she has to process the flogging. The Romans were very good at inventing painful distractions.

Not crucifixion on an installment plan I didn’t even think of that to be honest! Cause, like, my instant head canon was Zipitia would absolutely SLAY in the arena and because of her immaculate display of fighting she would be permitted to remain a she-gladiator until glory claimed her in blood and sand …..delayed crucifixion sounds more historically accurate tho
