When it comes to editing, I'd trust @Lucius over me any day. This was the first time I edited somebody else's story and my philosophy was to change as little as possible regarding the actual prose. 95% of what I did was adding paragraphs, adding/fixing punctuation, removing "and"s and splitting run-on sentences into multiple shorter sentences.

On top of that, I tried to reduce repeated word use a little and added a word or two at some places where the original was missing one. Other than that, I never tried to make changes that needed me to infer the intended meaning.

@Lucius edit probably turned out better overall because he is much more experienced than me editing other peoples' stories and he was willing to make bigger changes that I was scared to make.

Yes, I realised you stayed closer to the original than he did.
I would wager if I compared it section by section he would also come up on top on most of them.
But I guess there are also parts where I would like @Vela Nanashi's writing, and therefore a closer edit more.

But that is very subjective and not linked to a rational assessment of who did write better. Just an expression of taste. Might even change from day to day.
