Well, that's just silly of me. It's been an off day. School year is almost over, gotta excuse the lack of brain in the noggin LOL!KittyUmbrass wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 1:47 amIf that's directed at me, what Google does is irrelevant. I search using DuckDuckGo, whose main selling point is that they don't track your search history or anything else. So, appearing at the top in a DuckDuckGo search is actually significant!RapeU wrote: Thu Jun 05, 2025 12:04 am Gotta keep in mind that google is somewhat personalized. A quick peak of your profile shows your most active forum is the book club forum, so your google experience will differ based on someone who has never visited this forum before.

Re: Comments about comments
I realize that this is an old post, and this comment was not entirely relevant to the primary point at the time. However, it is true of google and lots of other sites, so I thought it might be worth pointing out--
If you want to see what non-targeted results look like, you can usually search in a private/incognito window. (I think all major browsers have some version of this by now.)
Of course, that won't tell you what other people's filtered results look like, but at least the results won't be swayed by your own behavior.
