Tug of War

The Dining Hall is the perfect place to take a break from your studies. Meet your fellow students or colleagues to chat about anything else the world has to offer. For the most part, any interest you want to share is fair game—just steer clear of contemporary politics.

There is a myth where a woman named Alcinoe hires a seamstress named Nicandra to work for her. But after a years she kicked Nicandra out, withouth the full paymant she promised, so Nicandra pryd to Athena. Athena enraged at Alcinoe decided to punish her. She made Alcinoe fall in love with a stranger from Samos named Xanthus. So one night Alcinoe left her husband Amphilochus and they children behind, and sailed away with Xanthus. But in the middle of the voyage she realised what she have done, and broke down in tears. Xanthus traid to confort her by promising to marry her, but it did not work. Alcinoe then jumped overboard into the sea to her death.

A fun fact about this myth. This was Moero, who was a woman.
