Well you could also make the underage of undefined age or barely legal.

Let me stop this kind of thinking right there. The rule is there to be followed, not to be circumvented. Characters with undefined age in a setting that usually suggests they are minors will be interpreted as underage. So a high school student will always be treated as underage by us unless the story, not the disclaimer, explicitly states that this is a high school senior who is 18 years old. There is a section on the Rules Explained page that goes into detail how that rule is to be interpreted.

Sexual acts involving underage(<18) characters: First, this is not a ban of underage characters in stories in general. Of course you can write a story that includes underage characters for as long as they are not involved in sex scenes. You are not allowed to publish stories that describe sexual acts that involve underage characters in any way. That includes passive participation like watching other people have sex. We also don't want you to look for loopholes in this rule. In general, we will err on the side of caution when removing stories with underage content. Dont be ambiguous in your portrayal of characters. Don't describe scenarios where characters are technically 18 or older but are meant to be read as younger. Don't have adult characters describe sexual acts they engaged in when they were underage. Here are a few examples how we will deal with attempts to bend or circumvent this rule:

• The characters are 1000 years old, but because they are part of a fantasy race that ages slower they look like they are only 15. This will be removed.

• The character isn't human at all. It's a robot that just happens to look like a little boy. This will be removed.

• The character is 18 but because of brain damage they still act like a little child. This will be removed.

• The character is 18 but because they took puberty blockers their body is underdeveloped. This will be removed.

• The character claims they are 18 but it is implied by the story that they are lying. This will be removed.

• The dialogue "Wait, don't tell me you're a virgin?!" - "No you idiot, I lost my virginity when I was 16!" is ok. If you continue the dialogue with "No you idiot, I lost my virginity when I was 16! My girlfriend back then used to do this in bed, she... (it follows a detailed description of what they did when they were underage)" the story will be removed.

To make this point very clear: Stories that involve minors in sexual acts are not forbidden just for legal reasons, they are not wanted here.

Although I know you didn’t finish that story yet, I really wish to see old man Wilber to impregnate one of the girls and become a father again…

(And if you continue that story someday, please let the girl survive and live as old man’s wife forever… of course against her will, threatened and gaslighted…!)
