Maintaining steam/interest

The Dining Hall is the perfect place to take a break from your studies. Meet your fellow students or colleagues to chat about anything else the world has to offer. For the most part, any interest you want to share is fair game—just steer clear of contemporary politics.

If I myself lose interest in my own story, then chances are the readers will too. As a rule of thumb, each new chapter of mine has to bring something new. When the story is really good and captivating, readers will tend to binge-read it. They will be impatient for new chapters.

There are things I do to keep the interest in the story, such as introducing new characters, new situations, or a major shift in a character's evolution. This comes with the danger of diluting the story, and too many rape scenes can become too much of a good thing.

Also, remember that even the best writers don't publish most of their works. When I feel that a story sucks, I don't hesitate and stop writing it. Case in point, the World Championships! What started as a sound scenario has turned into a huge mish-mash of things and rapes and situations that just get impossible to follow. I would need to slash whole chapters and start back from the near beginning!

You also need a thick skin because you'll go through long spells with zero feedback, at least such has been my recent experience here and elsewhere. I'm learning to write for myself and only myself because this is what the current culture reinforces.

I'm still on board with trying to fix that, but it's going to take a while for that to happen and it can't be done by one person alone.

However, you're mistaken if you think that you should write for only yourself. People are still searching you by name.

Thanks, @RapeU! This just shows I'm human, and this state of things isn't just isolated to erotica forums in general. I'm a regular on a weight-lifting forum and it's the same as compared to how great it was a decade ago.
