Pen & Paper RPGs

Post by Claire »

When I hear the term role play, my mind doesn't associate that with rape role play or erotic role play of any kind. My mind wanders to Pen & Paper RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons. I loved to play these when I was younger. Honestly, I would probably still love playing them if it wasn't so damn hard to find a group to play them with regularly once you are out of high school.

And I am curious to hear from those who are into rape role play here. Is that interest rooted in some general love for role play? Did some of you start with D&D or Vampire The Masquerade or Shadowrun and then wanted to give that a more erotic touch at some point?

So for me there are many variations of role play, that can have erotic elements to them, it does not for me have to be rape role play, but I can do that kind of thing too, if I know that is desired by those I play with.

I enjoy being the one that controls the world/setting, have at least one character that I can ride inside, to go on the adventure with my player(s) character(s), I will often run several non player characters too, those I usually don't ride inside all of them as much as I do with my own player character.

There is then different ways one can resolve tension and situations in the story, the game master/mistress could just be god and dictate what happens, the system can be run by dice and rules, where the game master/mistress is just the operator of the machine and don't have any direct control of what happens, or not entirely any control. In all of the above the player(s) lack much control, they can just try to do what they want and the game master/mistress has more control. Then we have what I prefer personally, where one person creates the world and does most of the work with all the non player characters and their own player characters, where the players can have one or more characters to play, and where everyone is adults and we all create the story together, the players can still ask the game master/mistress to resolve things, but they can also insert things into the story themselves too, a mutual creation of the story, that is the best way for me, but does take mature/adult players who are there for the fun of themselves, other players and the game master/mistress, but when you get that going, that is just glorious, beats writing a story alone, beats reading a story, beats any movie, beats games, it is just perfect :)

When I run a role play for people, I like to understand what the players want to get out of it, and then I will try to make that happen for them in the story, I am not the best game master/mistress ever though, but I will at least try :)

TTRPG is fun, we used to have sessions on saturday night in the chat of another forum. So @Claire does our chat support a dice roller. I continually kick around a campaign idea, and might finally find interrested players. I do DND 5e, not because it's the best system out there, but because I own the books.

As far as I know there is no dice roller yet, but I do want to implement that eventually :)

Excellent, looking forward to that and being willing to test drive it.

There is an extension from DMZX, the original developer of mChat from before Kasimi took over, that adds dice rolling to the chat. But I'm not sure whether that offers more than D6 and if it is even still compatible with the current mChat version. I'll look more into that tomorrow.

I was sure I'd replied on this thread already, but I see that is not so.

I definitely had very different routes to TTRPGs than to rape RP, although they did converge quite quickly too. I started off joining the fantasy roleplaying club at university and ended up in a game of Rifts for my first time! Dirfted away after that until we got a Pathfinder game going on RC in the chatrooms, which brought all the rape RPers who also do TTRPGs out and we ended up doing a few different games some with more and some with less rapey aspects in the campaigns.

I am very eager to get something going in the chatroom here. I'm thinking of seeing if there's interest in Cybertopia (cyberpunk setting rules-light d20 system, every roll is d20, add/subtract modifiers - huge scope for character creation and imagination). And if there is, whether the party would be rapist-y or more victim-y. I don't think I have the time & energy to run both at once, at least initially. I'll post something in the Looking for Partners board if folks are intrigued

I'd love to get the roleplaying going again, either learning a new system, or running DND. I still have the "grimm Taies" setting living rent free in my mind
